Volkswagen (VW) Group to invest EUR4.2 bil. in Spanish operations
Said to be the biggest industrial investment made in the country
The Volkswagen (VW) Group has announced that it will invest up to EUR4.2 billion (USD4.81 billion) in its Spanish operations. According to a statement released by local brand SEAT, the cash that will be spent between 2015 and 2019 will be the biggest industrial investment made in the country, and will be spent on new models and the infrastructure required to build them. Dr Francisco Javier García Sanz, Member of the Board of Management of VW said in a statement that this sees the VW Group "reaffirm its commitment as a driver of the Spanish economy." He added that the investment will be focused on the Group's sites in Martorell and Navarra.
