Avtotor to begin BMW X4 production
BMW recently postponed plans to establish its own manufacturing plant in Russia.
BMW will start assembling the X4 at its contract manufacturing partner Avtotor in Russia in the next few weeks, according to the ITAR-TASS world service. An Avtotor statement said, "Avtotor confirms information about the prepared launch of production start. We will inform later about the construction start time." BMW has a long-standing contract assembly arrangement with Avtotor, which has been assembling BMWs since 2003 starting with the 3-Series and 5-Series.
