Hyundai has announced that it will be the first automaker to include Android Auto connectivity for Google's Android smartphone operating system. According to a statement, the technology will be premiered in Hyundai's 2015 model-year Sonata with 8-inch navigation touchscreen display, which features in the Sonata Sport, Eco, Limited, Sport 2.0T, and Limited 2.0T models. It will also be offered to existing customers through a download at dealers from today (26 May) or via USB memory drive from mid-year. Customers with an Android smartphone with the Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system or later will also need a companion Android Auto application on their smartphone, as well as a micro USB cable to connect the phone to the car's USB port. It will also be rolled out in other Hyundai models at a later date.
