GM creating new jobs at Italian powertrain R&D centre
Build is expected to commence in early 2016.
General Motors (GM) has announced that it will further expand its GM Powertrain Europe (GMPT-E) Turin site in Italy. According to a statement, it has signed a letter of intent with its partner, the Politecnico di Torino, and the Regione Piemonte to reinforce the research relationship with the university. A 2,500-square-metre building will be constructed at the Politecnico's campus which will feature dedicated laboratories, offices and powerful computers. The build is expected to commence in early 2016. The company has also said that it will add a further 60 staff to the unit's 650-strong workforce during 2015.
