GM, Subaru vehicles added to recall list over defective Takata airbag inflators
Both the automakers clarified that they were unaware of any humidity-related ruptures of inflators.
General Motors (GM) and Subaru have added further models to a recall related to Japanese component supplier Takata over defective airbag inflators, reports the Detroit News. GM stated that it is recalling 374,715 units of the 2007−08 model-years Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra heavy-duty pick-ups in the United States, Canada, and other countries to replace front passenger airbag inflators produced by Takata. Subaru said it is adding about 60,000 units of 2004−05 model-years Subaru Impreza sedans and wagons, and 2005 model-year Saab 9-2x wagons. Both the automakers clarified that they were unaware of any humidity-related ruptures of inflators, and knew of no injuries or fatalities.
