Chery plans to build new plant in Hunan province
New plant will focus on producing new energy vehicles (NEVs)
Chery plans to build a plant in Zhuzhou, the second largest city in China's southern Hunan province, according to a report in SinoCast Transportation Beat. The new plant will focus on producing new energy vehicles (NEVs) under the Chery brand and will have an annual capacity of 50,000−100,000 units. The report further adds that Chery's electric car model eQ has already debuted in the Chinese market and the company plans to debut models such as the Arrizo 7 plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) and the Arrizo 3 electric vehicle (EV) by the end of 2015 and the start of 2016, respectively.
