LG Chem to build EV battery plant in Poland

Will break ground in the first half of next year with production to begin in the second half of 2017.

South Korean battery manufacturer LG Chem will build a new electric vehicle (EV) battery plant in Poland, according to a report by the Maeil Business Newspaper. According to sources quoted in the report, LG Chem will build its plant in Wroclaw. The report also claimed that the new plant will break ground in the first half of next year and production will begin in the second half of 2017. Upfront investment costs, including land purchasing expenses, might be around USD300 million or so.
