Mazda will recall 923,672 vehicles over an ignition switch issue that poses a risk of fire, reports the Jiji Press, citing a filing by the automaker with Japan's Transport Ministry. The recall involves 21 models manufactured between January 1989 and December 2005. These include 15 Mazda brand models, such as the Familiar and Lantis, as well as six models supplied to US Ford Motor Co on an original equipment manufacturer basis, including the Laser and Festiva.
