Toyota Boshoku sets up Chinese R&D centre
New R&D centre will analyse local Chinese consumer needs and competitors' offerings in the domestic market.
Japanese automotive component company Toyota Boshoku has opened a new USD22-million research and development (R&D) centre in Shanghai, reports the Nikkei. The facility is located in the Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone and combines laboratories previously based in Jiangsu province and central Shanghai. "By establishing a research and development centre in China, we will be able to provide products that cater to the needs of Chinese consumers," chairman Shuhei Toyoda told a news conference.
