Toyota reissues recall of nearly 1.6 million cars over defective airbags
20 nameplates are affected in Japan, Italy, the UK, and Spain.
Toyota has reissued a recall of nearly 1.6 million cars in Japan and Europe to check for possible faulty airbag inflators manufactured by Japanese component supplier Takata. According to a report by Reuters, 20 nameplates are affected, including Vitz models produced during 2004–09 in Japan. The models are being recalled in Japan, Italy, the UK, and Spain.
