Geely begins construction of NEV plant in Guizhou

Plant is due to be operational by 2017.

Chinese automaker Geely began construction of a new energy vehicle (NEV) plant in Guiyang, Guizhou province, southwest China, on 24 November. The CNY10.2-billion (USD1.6-billion) plant will cover 0.6 square kilometres and will consist of a punching press and welding, painting, and assembly facilities. The plant is due to be operational by 2017.
