Volkswagen (VW) Group announces R&D reorganisation and Audi production reshuffle
Accelerates plans to boost efficiency and lower cost base in the wake of the diesel emissions affair.
The Volkswagen (VW) Group has announced its latest round of cost-saving programmes and reorganisation as it looks to reduce costs and improve efficiency. It has announced a new research and development (R&D) structure for the VW passenger car brand, and Audi also announced a comprehensive reshuffle of its models within its existing production network. In the first announcement VW said that the R&D programmes for all its mainstream passenger car ranges would be split into four groups.
