Facility is expected to be operational by the fourth quarter of this year.

Toledo Molding & Die, Inc. (TMD), a global, full service supplier of interior and air and fluid management systems for the automotive industry, will invest $20 million to build a new manufacturing facility in Fayetteville, Tennessee. The company plans to create 250 jobs.  The Fayetteville facility will be the company’s fourth location outside of its home state. TMD will build a new 126,000 square foot manufacturing facility in the Fayetteville-Lincoln County Industrial Park, a Select Tennessee Certified Site. Construction is slated to begin in the next four weeks and the facility is expected to be operational by the fourth quarter of this year.

Significance: TMD was founded in 1955 as a model and pattern shop at its original (and still active) location on Laskey Road in Toledo, Ohio. TMD later began producing die cast molds then injection molds, ultimately progressing into injection molding various consumer products in the early 1960’s. TMD’s foray into automotove began in 1968 with the production of an injection molded defrost nozzle for the Ford LTD which later became the Crown Victoria. TMD quickly grew its automotive business focusing primarly on HVAC components. TMD has since grown into a Tier 1/Tier 2 Full Service Supplier of Interior and Air/Fluid Management Systems for the global automotive industry serving more than 20 international automotive customers. TMD’s product lines include molding, assembly and sequencing of instrument panels, consoles and door modules and molding and assembly of a variety of Air Induction, Powertain Cooling, Front End Module, Washer, HVAC and Underhood components and systems.
