Allison Transmission announces Q4, full-year 2015 results
Close 2015 with USD1.98 billion in net sales, down from USD2.12 billion in 2014
Allison Transmission reported that net sales in the fourth quarter of 2015 declined by 12% to USD478 million, compared with the same period in 2014. Similar to the third quarter, the US-based manufacturer of commercial-duty automatic transmissions and hybrid propulsion systems said the sales drop was principally driven by lower demand in off-highway end-markets, though the North American on-highway end-market and price increases on certain products helped reduce the overall decrease. Adjusted net income reached USD123 million, compared with USD117 million in the corresponding quarter of 2014. Adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) was USD170 million, 34.0% of sales, compared with USD185 million in the fourth quarter last year.
