Honda to build Acura hybrid SUV in China

Production to begin this year.

Japanese automaker Honda will introduce a locally produced sport utility vehicle (SUV) under its premium Acura brand in China, reports business newspaper the Nikkei. Production of the car will begin this year in China and the vehicle will be a hybrid SUV. The automaker also plans to build a mainstay hybrid variant of its Accord mid-sized sedan in China. Honda is targeting combined sales of around 20,000 to 30,000 units of the two hybrids in China this year.
