China to introduce new emission standards in 11 provinces in April
Implementation nine months earlier than originally planned.
The Chinese government is bringing forward the implementation of new, tighter emission regulations, report state media. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has released a new timeline for the implementation of the National V (5) emission standard across 11 provinces. The new policy is to be implemented in April, nine months earlier than originally planned. The provinces and provincial regions where the National V level emission standards for light petrol vehicles will be mandatory from April include Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Liaoning, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Shandong, Guangdong, and Hainan.
