Developing an EV with a 500km range, to launch 10 PHEVs by 2017

Daimler's head of research and development (R&D) elect Ola Kaellenius has said that the company will press ahead to significantly expand its model range from 30 to 40 different body styles by the end of the decade, while also accelerating development of AMG high-performance models and electric vehicles (EVs). In an interview with Automotive News Europe (ANE), the 46 year-old Swede, who will take over as the board member for group research and Mercedes-Benz Cars development from Thomas Weber in January next year, outlined his vision for the future of the Mercedes-Benz brand.
