Kreisel Electric begins construction of new lithium-ion battery factory in Austria
Plant expected to open in 2017, expand annual production capacity to 800,000kWh
Kreisel Electric, an Austria-based battery maker, has started construction of a new battery plant in Rainbach, Austria, to expand its annual production capacity to 800,000kWh, according to a company press release on 2 May. The 6,276 m2 factory “3K One” will be equipped with a fully automated production line, which provides serial assembly of batteries at a rate of 1kWh in 15 seconds. The factory is made of three equally sized parts which will be used for battery production, development of prototypes and small batch production, and host the software and engineering development. The factory will open in March 2017 and establish up to 70 jobs.
