Hyundai likely to resume CKD exports to Iran – report
Automaker expects to assemble nearly 2,000–3,0000 units annually
Hyundai is expected to resume exports of its Mighty trucks to Iran, reports local publication Dong-A Ilbo Daily. The automaker had earlier confirmed that it was undertaking a legal review of a deal to export automotive parts to SDM, an Iranian transport and construction company. The two companies expect to reach an agreement by next month. Details on production volumes are yet to be finalised, but the automaker expects to assemble nearly 2,000–3,0000 units annually, depending on the size of the market. The latest report cites an unnamed SDM official as saying that Hyundai agreed to sign a deal with SDM following the removal of sanctions on Iran.
