BMW begins construction of new Rosslyn body shop in South Africa as part of USD393 mil investment
Body shop to be significantly larger than the existing 17,000-square-metre facility
BMW has begun building a new body shop at its Rosslyn plant in South Africa, according to a report in the Mercury newspaper. The OEM is constructing the body shop as part of its ZAR6-billion (USD393-million) investment plan to add production of the BMW X3. The report cites BMW South Africa managing director Tim Abbott, who commented that nearly 45% of the total investment will be spent on the new body shop and to modify the paint shop.
