FMC plans to triple lithium hydroxide capacity to meet growing demand

Expects expansion to be completed by 2019

FMC Corporation plans to increase its production capacity for lithium hydroxide by 20,000 metric tons per year, three times more than current production, according to a press release. FMC will execute the expansion in three phases and expects completion by 2019. Phase one is expected to be commissioned and online by 2017, while planning for phase two is underway. Upon completion of all phases, FMC's lithium hydroxide capacity will reach at least 30,000 metric tons.
