Plastic Omnium develops lightweight plastic fuel tank for PHEVs
New tank 40% lighter than metal tank; company to delivery first tank in December for Hyundai’s PHEVs
Plastic Omnium has developed a lightweight plastic tank, based on its new INWIN technology. According to a company press release, the tank is 40% lighter than the metal model currently used in most plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs).
