Acquisition to enable SMIC to enter global automotive electronics market
China-based Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC) last week (24 June) agreed to acquire a 70% stake in Italian company LFoundry for a consideration of EUR49 million (USD27.2 million), according to LFoundry press release.
