How PSA is setting new supplier standards
The French OEM’s top purchasing executive outlines his strategy
PSA-Peugeot-Citroën’s strategy of remaining independent through a combination of profitable growth, globalisation and collaboration with suppliers and other OEMs has brought considerable success over recent years. Unit sales rose from 2.5m in 1999 to 3.4m in 2005, though the group’s business performance deteriorated in the first nine months of this year. An ageing product line-up, lack of new models and withering competition led to this year’s decline in sales, revenues and profitability.
