European alloy wheel manufacturers face pressure from the Chinese
Aftermarket already heavily penetrated by Chinese manufacturers
Alloy wheel manufacturers in Europe are facing pressure from Chinese suppliers in the wake of improvements in quality standards of the Chinese and demands for cost reductions from the OEMs. Chinese suppliers are capable of supplying alloy wheels at lower costs than most of the global suppliers. Already, more than 50% of the North American and European aftermarket is serviced by Chinese manufacturers. Now, with quality levels improving, the leading Chinese suppliers like Wanfeng, Dicastal and China Wheel are seeking global contracts.
