Nokia announces proposed merger with Alcatel-Lucent, potential sell off of HERE business

Nokia announced that it has initiated a review of strategic options, including a potential divestment, for its HERE business - the mapping, navigation, location, and software component of the organization. In addition, Nokia today also announced the acquisition of Alcatel-Lucent, an all-stock deal worth about $16.6 billion USD. The Board of Directors of Nokia believes this is the right moment to assess the position of HERE within the proposed new Nokia business.
