TI announces DLP chipset ready for production HUDs, adaptive forward lighting

Texas Instruments today introduced the first DLP chipset engineered and qualified for automotive head-up display (HUD) applications. With this, TI claims the potential for a HUD field of view (FOV) up to 12 degrees, which among other things could enable a virtual image distance of up to 20 meters in front of the car.
