Ford plans to develop Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Level 4, limited-situation automated vehicles, missing out Level 3. The autonomous products will target "high-volume" ride-sharing and commercial services, before being developed for private ownership

Ford announced yesterday (16 August) that the company has set a target of making an SAE Level 4 autonomous vehicle available for ride sharing in 2021, specifically a "high-volume" product.
