Hyundai plans to tap upcoming mobility testing ground in Michigan for developing autonomous vehicles–report
New testing ground to starts operation by winter next year
Hyundai intends to speed up its autonomous driving development in the United States by tapping a mobility testing ground currently built at an abandoned bomber factory complex outside Detroit, Michigan. The Korean automaker’s North American research and development (R&D) head Andy Freels told Automotive News in an interview early this month that relatively less stringent Michigan law makes it easier for the companies to test autonomous vehicles on the state’s public roads.
