Tata Motors to increase platform sharing to drive down manufacturing costs
Indian automaker is reviewing its product portfolio, may phase out some of non-performing models
Tata Motors plans to reduce the number of platforms used in manufacturing passenger vehicles and increase platform sharing to drive down manufacturing costs, according to a report by the Business Standard, citing Tata Motors CEO and managing director Günter Butschek. The automaker has also started reviewing its product portfolio and has hinted that it might phase out some of its non-performing models.
