Two companies aim to begin sample shipment of MCUs, employing 28nm process technology, by next year and series production by 2020

Renesas Electronics and TSMC have teamed up to develop 28 nanometer (nm) embedded flash (eFlash) process technology to produce microcontrollers (MCUs) for use in next-generation green and autonomous vehicles, the two companies said in a press release.
