Map to be available to automakers who invest in the start-up

What could prove to be a big step towards autonomous driving in Japan, Mitsubishi Electric, mapmaker Zenrin and nine automakers have come together to form a joint venture, ‘Dynamic Map Planning ‘, that will digitally chart the country's key expressways and create high-definition 3D maps in time for the Tokyo Summer Olympics which will be held in 2020, reports Nikkei Asian Review.
