New Zealand's traffic institute and Volvo to conduct autonomous vehicle trial in November
New Zealand Transport Agency and Ministry of Transport working with Volvo and New Zealand Traffic Institute to ensure trial abides by local laws
Volvo and the New Zealand Traffic Institute (Trafinz) plan to conduct an autonomous vehicle trial at National Trafinz Transport Conference 2016 in Tauranga (New Zealand). The New Zealand Transport Agency and the Ministry of Transport are working with Volvo and Trafinz to ensure that the trial abides by the laws, including appropriately managing safety risk. According to Transport Minister Simon Bridges, "Autonomous vehicles will be a big part of the future of transport.
