Need for real-world emission tests has arisen after Volkswagen (VW) scandal came to light last year

The Indian government plans to introduce real-time random emission tests for on-road vehicles from 2020, according to a report by The Economic Times. Until now, government-approved agencies test vehicles in laboratory conditions before the vehicles are sold.
