New vehicle sales in Malaysia slip 2.1% y/y in August; production falls 11.9% y/y
YTD vehicle production is down 17.3% y/y
New vehicle sales in Malaysia slipped 2.1% year on year (y/y) in August to 52,313 units, according to data released by the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA). Of this total, passenger vehicle sales accounted for 46,223 units (down 2.3% y/y) and commercial vehicle (CV) sales remained flat at 6,089 units (down 1% y/y).
