In all, the three manufacturers will be recalling 14,223 vehicles

Kia Motors America is recalling 12,214 model year 2016 Kia Optima vehicles in North America, manufactured between 13 November 2015 and 23 April 2016 and equipped with the company’s 2.4L engine, as the right front axle driveshaft on these vehicles may crack and fail, according to a notification on the website of National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) dated 3 October. Kia will notify owners and the recall is expected to begin on 29 November.
