Ford trials GLOSA app in Mondeo Hybrids in UK
App uses information on traffic light timings from a roadside unit to display to drivers the best speed to travel to get a green light
Ford is running trials of an innovative technology that enables its vehicles to avoid red lights. According to the company’s press release, the technology, Green Light Optimal Speed Advisory (GLOSA), uses information on traffic light timings from a roadside unit to display to the driver the best speed to travel to get a green light. The US automaker is testing the technology in its Mondeo Hybrid cars along with Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) and Tata Motors at UK Autodrive.
