Rejig in production mix to better reflect market demand in the region

Honda is planning more production shifts in North America and may raise imports from Japan in a bid to meet strong demand for sport utility vehicles (SUVs) in the United States, reports Automotive News. From early 2017, the Japanese automaker will begin producing its Acura MDX SUV at its plant in East Liberty, Ohio (United States), adding to production at its Alabama plant, which also makes its Pilot SUV, Ridgeline pick-up truck, and Odyssey minivan.
