Tesla to choose site for European "Gigafactory" next year

esla will make a decision soon on where to build the European version of the Gigafactory battery cell manufacturing plant that has begun limited initial production in Nevada. Automotive News Europe (ANE) reports that the company will begin looking for sites next year after gradually raising production at the US facility, according to comments from a spokesperson. The company has already been rumoured to be looking at sites in France, the Netherlands, and Spain. Many see the Netherlands as the obvious choice, given that the company already has a final assembly facility there for cars for the European market.
