Public interest group not favoring US DOT guidelines for highly automated vehicles where compliance by automakers has been made voluntary

Consumer Watchdog has called on the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to enact federal motor vehicle safety standards (FMVSS) covering autonomous vehicles, the US-based non-profit public interest group said in a press release.
