Sales of alternative powertrain vehicles in South Korea gain 63.8% y/y in January-October
Domestic automakers account for 76.8% of the total eco-friendly vehicles sales
Sales of eco-friendly vehicles, including electric vehicles (EV), hybrid electric vehicles (HEV), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV), and fuel-cell electric vehicles (FCEV), in South Korea grew by 63.8% year on year (y/y) to 53,631 units during the first 10 months of 2016 (January–October), according to joint data released by the Korea Automobile Manufacturers Association (KAMA) and Korea Automobile Importers and Distributors Association (KAIDA), and reported by Yonhap News Agency.
