Belgium’s Flanders selects HERE to deploy C-ITS solution to improve road safety
Nine-month project to be funded by EC’s C-Roads Deployment Platform
The Flemish Ministry of Mobility and Public Works has selected HERE to deploy a Cooperative Intelligence Transportation System (CIT-S), which is aimed at improving road safety and transport efficiency, according to a press release by HERE on 12 December. HERE will provide real-time safety alert information to drivers, warning them of, for example, a slow or stationary vehicle, sudden traffic build ups, road works or adverse weather. The deployment will cover major highways in Flemish region of Belgium, also known as Flanders, including the E34, E40, E17/E19, E312 and R001.
