The Detroit-Hamtramck plant builds the Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac CT6 and Chevrolet Impala, Malibu and Volt

General Motors (GM) will cut the Detroit-Hamtramck plant from two shifts to one as of 6 March 2017, affecting nearly 1,300 employees, reports Automotive News. Half of the workers affected are reportedly temporary employees, the rest are full-time union members. The report comes a day after GM confirmed production suspensions will happen at five plants over the course of January 2017, including the Detroit-Hamtramck plant.
