Tesla to release v8.1 software before end of this month―report
All new Tesla vehicles feature new suite of driver assistance hardware, enabling full scale self-driving capability
Tesla is gearing up to roll out its version 8.1 (v8.1) software, which will activate enhanced Autopilot in the carmaker’s new vehicles, by end of this month, according to media reports last week citing tweets from CEO Elon Musk. In response to tweets by several owners of Tesla Model S and Model X, Musk said that Tesla’s software team is “working seven days a week to complete testing and validation” needed before the software is released. A new tweet by the CEO later said that the company “might be ready to roll out most of Autopilot functionality for [hardware 2 vehicles] towards the end of next week”.
