Japanese vehicle output grows 6.6% y/y in November, with exports up 2% y/y
Buoyant overseas shipments and new model launches in the domestic market helped lift Japan's monthly production during the month
Japanese vehicle production, including passenger vehicles, trucks, and buses, totalled 840,330 units during November, according to figures released by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers' Association (JAMA). This represented a 6.6% year-on-year (y/y) increase from 788,431 in November 2015. Output in the passenger car category – which includes utility vehicles and vans – climbed 9.1% y/y to 730,322 units. Truck production dipped 7.5% y/y to 100,054 units and bus output slid 8.8% y/y to 9,954.
