NIO, Mobileye team up to develop L4 Autonomy by 2019
Mobileye to provide compute platform, full eight-camera surround view processing, sensor fusion software
Electric vehicle (EV) start-up NIO and Mobileye have inked a memorandum of understanding for a strategic partnership to jointly develop differentiated L4 autonomy (L4 autonomy is one of the five levels of autonomous/driverless vehicles as classified by the US Department of Transportation) for NIO US vehicles by 2019, according to a Mobileye press release.
