Intersil unveils charger to extend backup battery life of eCall systems

Intersil has unveiled ISL78693, a new 3.6V single-cell battery charger to extend the life of lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries used in automotive emergency call (eCall) systems, says a company press release.
