Velodyne opens ‘megafactory’ in US to begin Lidar production
Also sets up a R&D facility
Velodine LiDAR has opened a ‘megafactory’ in San Jose, California (United States) to increase production of three-dimesnional (3D) Lidar sensors, the company said in a press release on 18 January. The factory is already producing the company’s HDL-64 solid-state hybrid Lidar sensors. Velodyne expects the facility to produce more than 1 million Lidar sensors in 2018.
