TomTom acquires German start-up Autonomos
Acquisition expands TomTom’s presence in autonomous driving market
TomTom has acquired Germany-based self-driving start-up Autonomous GmbH for an undisclosed amount, the company said in a press release on 18 January. The acquired company provides research and development (R&D) services in areas of automotive software, digital image processing and 3D sensor technology. Autonomos has also developed in-house real-time stereo camera solution for use as driver assistance systems in commercial vehicles.
