Indonesian new vehicle sales grow 4.8% y/y in 2016, production up 7.2% y/y
New vehicle sales in Indonesia remained in positive territory for the ninth consecutive month in December 2016, reflecting continued improvement in the economy and resulting in growth in the full-year market
Wholesale new vehicle sales in Indonesia – including passenger vehicles and light, medium, and heavy commercial vehicles – grew 18.1% year on year (y/y) in December 2016 to 86,573 units, according to data from the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (GAIKINDO).
